Once a friend to Jack Sparrow, Jolly Roger became enraged when Jack was made Lord of the Caribbean instead of him. After a failed ploy to steal Jack's Piece of Eight, in a rigged game of cards, Jolly shot and killed the witch doctor who had been running the game; forced to take on an eternal life of suffering as a walking skeleton due to the voodoo curse, he now prowls the Caribbean, still seeking vengeance on Jack Sparrow, in his quest to conquer the Caribbean.
